Week 1

MINISTRY ACTIVITIES
This week in ministry i spent a total of 5 hours doing ministry towards my practicum hours. I spent more time than this, but that time was preparation time because i was speaking. Speaking was probably the highlight of ministry this week, i spend an hour (i know an hour speaking) speaking, but they were with me the whole time. I spent another hour helping in sunday school and sunday morning service. I did a number of different things throughout that time. The rest of my time this week was spent just simply hanging out with students and building relationships with them. One thing that i did that was very imporatant was small group leading. Leading this group probably took about 30 mins.

REFLECTION ON MINISTRY
I have been with this group of students for about 6 months now so i have already established relationships with them. However, at this time i have found that they are finally starting to trust me and are finaly beginning to open up to me. It really helps you as a leader feel more comforatable when you know that the students are connecting with you and are interested in and value your opinion on things. I am finding it to be hard to connect with some of the students becasue we are simply very different. Some of the students in the ministry are very musical and theatre inclined, and well i am not. I am more athleticly inclined, which is ok, i just need to begin to try to connect with them, somehow!

SPIRITUAL REFLECTION
The past month was horrible for me spiritually speaking. This week as i was preparing to speak i realized that i did not feel worthy of speaking to these students, because i felt as if i was lying to them. I did not feel like i could talk to them because i had not been in the word of God or in prayer or worship or really any of the spiritual disciplines. However, this week i have begun to start reading and praying and practicing more of these disciplines because that feeling was something that i do not want to be acquatinted with on a regular basis.
